A little bit about me…
My name is Victoria Jackson (formerly Balega) and I am a Hungarian-Canadian raised in Toronto with an amazing husband, Adam, and a beautiful 11 month old puppy named Satoshi (Her instagram: @satoshi_jackson).
My Father, George Balega, started Blue Danube Sausage House Ltd. in 1994 and I have been involved in the business ever since. From stocking pop fridges to packaging meats, I have been around the meat & food business since age 5.
I studied Arts & Contemporary Studies with a Major in Culture & Entertainment at Ryerson University and was the President of my program. I also worked as a bartender at several of Toronto’s finest establishments for 12 years.
I run the Sales & Marketing division at Blue Danube and spend most of my time working with new and longstanding customers that we serve in our Wholesale Department and running Blue Danube's website and social media pages. I also own & run Victoria’s Markets, which brings our delicious All-Natural products to Farmers’ Markets, Festivals, and Events. Through my experiences in a Hungarian-Canadian upbringing and my experiences at Blue Danube, I have become passionate about sharing flavourful and healthy recipes using our homemade products that I am proud to serve my family.
I hope that you enjoy our recipes and tips and that I can bring a little extra flavour to your life! Like our company motto states, all of our recipes are “From our Family to Yours!”
